I’ve seen the prototyper make net zero changes lately.

Or, it will make changes and I will see them (eg. +6 -8).

But then when the task completes, the numbers will change, **or disappear**.

I’ve had three actions in a row where it was tasked to make simple type fixes, then did nothing.

Notice the empty space above the three files with changes, which previously had + and - counts.

Update: Same issue in code view w/ Gemini

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/idxcommunity/original/2X/7/79916ef5e9903aa3d5be7f790dcabf5062bf6f29.png)

Looks like my context size became massive and rolled over:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/idxcommunity/original/2X/3/3bb2c2eaacd550e206d5f75da5ff198ced213eb7.png)

Context reset. The issue persists.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/idxcommunity/original/2X/f/fb718f45e95516ce55d5f97bb8439241b0634366.png)

The prototyper has become completely unusable in this workspace.

Notice the trailing backtick ` in the sentence before it outputs XML, which will fail.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex002/uploads/idxcommunity/original/2X/c/c1789e7abcb25ee8c0a1f21b05cda3bc7e42f894.png)

I also do not have the option to click the stop button, it still just shows the send arrow.

It’s like it’s disconnected from what I’m asking it to do and stuck on a pending task.

I can’t get it to return to normal.

It seemed like only certain files would encounter this issue and I was able to get around it by asking it to refactor those files and rename them, which seemed to clear the cache of whatever was preventing changes from being written to these files.

Another occurrence, it is impossible for the prototyper to make changes to this file:

James,

This is a massive blocker.

Do you have any updates on this ticket you can share?

I’m about to test deploying new workspaces as a last resort.

That last example is a good one.

1. Are you switching between Prototyper and Code View?

If you make edits in code view, Prototyper’s context will not be aware of those changes so when it is tasked to edit the file it could delete things it doesn’t think should be there or add things it think should be there based on your past conversations.

If you do edit something in code view, ask Prototyper to read and familiarize itself with the edits you made so it updates it’s context.

1. Have you tried using the `/clear` command or restarting the workspace to get a new VM?

</div>

I leave code view and prototyper open in two windows as the same time always, as well as a publicly exposed live preview page and my production app, for four windows total, typically with dev tools open on all but code view.

I’ve never thought to ask it to re-read the files again, I hadn’t considered that limitation.

I’ve reset my context many times and used /clear and have restarted the VM at least 5 times, this bug has persisted since Sunday or Monday.

I’ve noticed a minor update not yet announced in the responses from the file changes window lately:

I have the same problems in my workspace.
“An empty Change was requested to this file”.
“Problem with the natural\_language\_write\_file”.
“Request contains an invalid argument”, what ever I ask Gemini.
Seem to be connected to my account. My colleague does not have the same problem. It seems that I have triggered something or reached a limit of some kind.

I’ve experienced this issue in Gemini Code Assist as well. Admittedly I’m using the Developer Preview version.
