# IDX is unable to create a folders / file that I request

IDX generates files and folders at least during initial bootstrap. However when I ask it to create some folders / files, it fails.

eg: I asked to create a docs folder and write down some design decisions into a doc inside this folder. It kept trying to create the folder and file, but keeps failing.

Is there a setting to allow it to create files / folders?

Thank you for the report, we identified a bug and the fix is being pushed out. In the meantime, you can fix the issue by **refreshing your browser right after adding your API key** for Gemini in IDX.
