Antigravity, Firebase Studio, Gemini 3 and Android Studio - Let's talk

Hey guys,

there’s so much going on, from Gemini 3 to Antigravity.

Since Juli it’s not possible to launch Android Studio here, but here’s the catch. I have a Chromebook Acer 315, a small model with less RAM and storage. I have LInux so I was able to install Antigravity. I was sweating and couldn’t wait to try it - just to find out that it’s lagging a lot on my computer. I cannot do anything (and I am a big AI coding fan).

I remembered Android Studio, it was like a virtual desktop. It would be amazing to have this for Antigravity. Merge Antigravity and Firebase Studio, but please remain in the Cloud!!! It’s so helpful. I can switch devices, workplaces and everything is there. But Antigravity looks like an IDE from 2100 and I NEED to try it. I’m looking for stronger devices, but maybe we can have a stronger cloud.

Let’s Gooooooooooooo! Post what you think about it. (@RichH Maybe this is a helpful idea)

Unfortunately, the team is messing up; two months without any updates. They respond to posts that have nothing to do with the subject, and they don’t respond to posts that actually deserve a reply. I’m sure this team isn’t…Unfortunately, the team is messing up. Spending vacation at Google.

Similar behavior with AppSheet. Google’s just too big to care.

Chromebooks are not made to run heavy apps locally. I installed a real linux distro (Xubuntu) on mine with Crouton, and I noticed a performance boost compared to ChromeOS. Plus now I have full control of my machine.

Guys, it’s high cost to offer something like Firebase Studio. We can be grateful that Google offers a Cloud IDE. Thanks Google

But a remote Desktop would be so powerful for Dev tools and would centralize all AI tools for Devs
