Ephemeral disk is completely full

/ephemeral: 22GB disk, 100% full
Nix alone reports using 60GB (impossible)
Unable to develop due to disk space

Firebase Studio’s Nix installation is broken - it’s trying to use more space than the ephemeral disk has.

Sounds like unexpected behavior. Please create a support ticket and attach screenshots and if possible screen recordings showing the behavior you are experiencing. The information you provide will help the support team troubleshoot your issue.

Something to try is to reset your workspace. You can find this in the context (…) menu on the Firebase Studio landing page next to your workspace name. This will give you a new VM and possibly resolve your issue.

I have this issue as well, any chance on it getting resolved?

Fresh new workspace created and straight from the bat

Restart VM from the workspace screen also doesn’t work just FYI. Even in another scenario I spun up a totally new workspace (project) and 100% /ephemeral. Seems as if it is contained under the same G account.

Same here. Firebase Support left me hangin’ and suggested to submit a feature request. They wouldn’t clear /ephemeral for me… OpenAi Codex now has an extension in VS, so moved my project to GitHub, but Firebase had some integrations that I liked, so it is a bit more work, but, what can one do.

How would clearing temporary unused data not to be one of the primary interests for Google.

@jamesor checking back in with you on whether or not there are any improvements for this coming in the near future?

I had a feature request raised but nothing is guaranteed and basically got told go else where until they implement it.

I have the same issue.. 100% full..

Hi I’ve been discussing this with the Firebase Studio team and /ephemeral is not a user allocated storage space and is expected to be full.

What is the actual error you are seeing? It could be related to disk space for the App Prototyper, that is in du -sh /home/user/.idx/ai/

Or /home/user in general, you can check how much space is used with du -sh /home/user/ --exclude=.emu --exclude=.androidsdkroot
