Hi everybody - one of our top requested features revolves around supporting Gitlab and Bitbucket repositories! We pushed a change a few moments ago where you now have early support for it.
My video below goes into more detail:
There is still more work to be done to improve some fit-and-finish issues, and we’ll be tackling those over the upcoming days.
Please try this out and reply back with your thoughts
I set it also in the ticket but you can use https://gitlab.com/irving-public-repos/test-projects/tesing for test, is a public empty repository but shows the same error message.
Hey Kirupa! I was wondering if IDX templates will also be (or are already suppose to be) supported for GitLab?
Currently, I am able to import repositories from both GitHub and GitLab fine. However, IDX templates are only working with GitHub it seems, not GitLab. So, I’m not sure if this is a bug, or a matter of deciding whether to support templates more broadly. Below are a few examples.
In both cases above, the GitHub links lead to a valid screen to create a workspace from the template. On the other hand, both GitLab links lead to an error, screenshot below:
Bitbucket does not work, I tried importing from my private repo and it looks to load but it never asks for my username or password and it blinks between the VSCode view and back to the import screen. This makes this product unusable.
