Have i lost my app. Its starting a new prototype instead of continuing my existing prototype

The prototype is asking what app i want to build today. Now this has happened before and i simply told it to retrieve our history and it worked, but today its trying to prototype a history recovery app.
I have done a lot of work over the past couple of days on this app… we are half way through solving a major error and i cant seem to retrieve my history.

Please help me with the retrieval.

It’s frustrating. I can’t switch to code mode, cos i’m not a coder.. I wouldn’t know what to do. It’s important that I’m able to complete my project.

Thanks, i have tried that and it only showed my time today.. in the code end, my files are still intact, but the document its accessing is the new app it wants to create.

I decided to start a the project afresh in a new workspace and in less than 24 hours im experiencing the same thing. all history gone in prototype mode, its asking my to create a new prototype. Any headway so far? @kirupa

Right now I encountered the same problem. The VM got unresponsive so I performed a reset, and now Gemini wants to start a new prototype, everytime I enter a prompt.

For me the workaround for this problem was, to zip & download all project files from Firebase IDX, then create a new Firebase Studio project, delete all files from the new project and upload your old_project_files.zip to the root folder and unzip it through the terminal with the “unzip old_project_files.zip” command.
Then reconfigure your Google Cloud, Firebase Config, Functions and authorized Domains to the new project. Maybe it’s also possible to use the old Firebase Config to work with your old Cloud Configuration, but I haven’t had the chance to test this.

Been having the same problem. Happened about 3 days ago. First, the prototyper lagged out which caused me to reset the vm. Then after the reset, lost the chat about a few sessions later. New AI wouldnt go find the chat and told me I was good to go. About a few hours later, AI reset and new chart started. I wanted to add a small arrow to something and it wants to rebuild my whole project. Just waiting for this to get some attention.

also, the prototyper is just showing the same “Prototype this app” regardless of what ever commands I throw at it. Are you guys getting the same thing? @BYO
