There are some big features I would need to use it regularly. For me, the fact that it is cloud hosted is a comfort because of the fact that I can always access and work on it no matter where I am or what hardware I have access to. But there are some features that I would love to see:
- An editable system/project instruction prompt (I’m sure many have requested this, but I’ll add my voice)
- An auto confirm option for file edits and commands.
- The Gemini agent should have a base understanding of the environment it is operating in (cloud based IDE) to avoid many common misunderstandings that derail development.
- It would be great if the agent always has an up to date index of all the files in the project in it’s context window. I see the feature for “Enable Codebase Indexing” but it does not seem to give the agent much better of a “perception” of the current state of the codebase. It still goes searching for files before it becomes aware of it’s existence.
This is not a criticism. I just thought providing some feedback might be useful.
