This error is actively blocking me from work! This is the version of the error I see in the prototype view when I try a new prompt. I get a vague “internal error” message followed by a troubleshooting url when I try gemini in the code view.
-I have added an API key for a paid project.
-I tried different models
-I followed the advice here
but I am still stuck 
Please help unblock me so I can get back to work.

Same Same. Changing my API key in the IDX doesn’t appear to change the API key i am using for the protoyper.
It’s likely you are on the free plan and you are using Gemini pro 2.5 and finished your tokens count
I am not on the free plan. I went into dev mode, added an API key and selected the project name from settings to make sure I am not using the built-in model.
My best guess is that this is some sort of a bug where the system treats some of the usage as “free usage” and was rate limiting me.
Either way, I have decided these errors as my cue to take a break from this work and come back to it the next day.
