Remote Extension host terminated unexpectedly 3 times within the last 5 minutes

Hi everyone,

sorry if I created this post in the wrong place. Please guide me where to post it, if that is the case.

After IDX working perfectly fine for some time, it started to give me following error “Remote Extension host terminated unexpectedly 3 times within the last 5 minutes.”. It only is like that in one project. In other projects everything works fine. The project that error appears, is a flutter project.

I can not do anything after that, except look at the code. There is no preview. Terminal is not working. And so on.

Seems to be a common issue, the same occurred to me and so did the reporter of this bug report. (please vote for it)

As a workaround, you can start a new project, then copy and paste all code (not a good workaround, but a workaround nonetheless)

Same happened here, I’ve been searching and the only relevant thing would be this Link, but it has kept failing for me, so I’ll probably have to reinstall the entire program, as @/Sunny said.

same here- seems more of a way to control VM- I am testing Github codespaces

Disable any 3rd party extensions you may have in your browser. The Grammerly extension is one that people had mentioned here in the past as one that may cause some issues with IDX.
