Why is it not possible to give a copy of a workspace to another user?

I have several apps I have as templates to build on. I want to give a copy of these templates to a colleague but that is not possible.

It is only possible to share it but when shared, they can not duplicate it. This is a very critical issue in regards of collaborating.

You can share it the other user can connect with his git repo and then create a new project by introducing that code in this project base

I wanted to do an internal workshop in Firebase, but it was not possible due to this missing feature.
