Will Firebase Studio simply be discontinued, just like Google usually does with some of its products without further ado? Because all the other products have already been updated with Gemini 3 (like Jules for ex.), and Studio is still lagging behind. What is offered is a chat using an API that doesn’t work, because I’ve already tested it and it presents constant errors even using a paid API.
Sad, I have a good online project already in commercial use.
Firebase Studio ja esta abandonado, eu paguei 270 euros por esse lixo de plataforma.
Sinto-me completamente roubado.
I switched to anti-gravity , gave him access to my project in firebase and it’s building soo well. anti-gravity is the goat
now.
The problem with antigravity is you have to install it.
I started using antigravity today
And it feels like it has the same stack / workarounds I was using with agents, and more chat agents
But it feels more connected
and the MCP with firebase makes me feel like it should take care of everything, but firebase studio gives me more confidence with their connection with firebase (which is new, probably 1-2 months old update that they finally added the MCP, and saves 100hrs on firebase console command cli)
what that said
I prefer if firebase studio had more models, and they added agents like anti gravity, something that goes on autopilot, but allowed me to have a few chats
Aside from that, working in firebase is super easy, the problem, is not as manual when you need to modify stuff, I think antigravity will sovle some issues I wasn’t able to solve so easily w firebase bc it allows me to build enviroments per folder, and with firebase studio, managing manually my command console on my computer without an IDE, was suuuuper clunky and problematic
Do I think firebase studio could survive? yup, but antigravity its a more complex tool, and requires moooore time to setup
At this stage, I would still go back to firebase studio, to build my stage 0 prottype, launch firebase console and kickstart the project
Once you have that, I would recommend you moving to antigravity after pushing to github
Studio 0-10
Anti 10-100
Well, i have had a great experience with antigravity since i started using it and am not sure i would go back to firebase studio. all the issue firebase brought to my my codebase and even breaking my app, antigravity has resolved it and built some robust features.
Honestly, allow am not scared of losing my app with antigravity as i did with firebase.
The strategy i use is, i use chatgpt and gemini to detail my ideas and plans and then make them give me a simple yet detailed prompt ,plan and structure to give to gravity to build and that makes it soo easy. i just use chatgpt and gemini to cross check if all the ideas resonate before i request for final plan to build. This has helped me a lot.
I agree: Antigravity is leaps and bounds better than Firebase Studio.
I’m not even sure how to start a project on antigravity
I do gemini for kickstarting the ideas
Firebase to protytpe and build the skeleton
Once I publish
I just launch it on antigravity and work from there
I don’t think firebase at this point will be replaced
But used like this
They should instead make it better for prototype and connecting with antigravity after
Oh, dear, antigravity users! wait for a blatant bill for using Gemini. Is not for free.
You need to make a copy of your project on your local dev, then open antigravity editor mode that looks like VS code, go to file at the top left corner and add your folder containing your project on your local dev , after that, go to the extreme right ,look for this … 3dots, click on it and choose MCP servers and select firebase MCP to install, this will give antigravity access to your console database. then look at the top of the editor and click on open agent manager, that’s where you will give your prompts for it to build . please ask gemini to give you the command to select your project in firebase studio for gravity, when he gives you, paste it in the terminal and your all projects will come up, then select the one you connected to antigravity and that’s it. start vibe coding. please ask gemini to guide you step by step on how to connect to gravity. it’s that simple
That’s not true, there is free tier and after your credit is exhausted, it will give you date on when you can use free tier again. mostly gemini flash is 4days and the rest is 6days and of course there is the paid plan which is about €106
