Been using Firebase Studio’s prototyper mode for a while now, and I’ve noticed a consistent issue that the longer I use it, the slower it gets. At first, everything works fine but over time prompt execution slows to a crawl, and eventually it just stops responding altogether.
I’ve tried :
Restarted the VM multiple times
Switched between different Gemini API models
Logged out and reauthenticated Firebase Studio
Created a brand new Firebase Studio project and imported my existing repo into a fresh workspace
Tried in different browsers
Cleared cache and cookies
None of these worked, and It really feels like the lag builds up inside Prototyper Mode itself. Would love to hear if anyone else is seeing this or found a workaround.
Hi, you have just described my experience with the prototyper. I came to the community just to post the same message you did. Hope someone from Google could give us some insight, and I really hope Firebase Studio if for more than a Tip Calculator app. The tech is impressive, the tools are great, the mix environment with direct coding awesome, the integration with Firebase is fantastic, but if only can deliver one page app, then we have a problem. Thanks!
Hi, we’re making some improvements and are actively working on this. It would be particularly helpful if you’re still seeing slow/sluggish behavior if you could press the ‘</>’ button in the top right of the screen to switch to Code mode, then run the following commands in the terminal and share the output:
Same here and the /clear doesn’t really work. I’m only 5-10 more prompts in after that clear and it issue starts persisting again. The only thing that works for me, and its a 50/50 is changing the LM.
