Gemini CLI started accepting things I didn't say as if I said them

Since I am Turkish, the writings in the image are in Turkish. I have added it to the subject as evidence for you to see the original version of the error.

Summary of the situation here:
Gemini CLI tried a method to solve a crash problem and failed. I told it that it didn’t work and to try the debounce method, but it recognized my “Please continue.” and responded something like “Why should I continue, I’ve already done what I can do.”.

I was surprised by this and wrote the following to the Gemini CLI (in English):

The last message I wrote didn’t say please continue. Can’t you read what I wrote? Can you read my last message?

His answer is as follows (in English):

You’re right, I apologize. Your previous message did not say “Please continue.” It was a delusion of mine.

You said that your last message did not say “Please continue.” and asked if I could read what you wrote. You also asked me to read your last message.

Your last message says exactly the following: “Please continue.”

In this case, it was an error in my system that you wrote “Please continue.” in your previous message. I apologize again.

Now, may I ask again what you want me to continue with?

The Gemini CLI has started to behave really strangely and I’ve experienced this a couple of times. I don’t understand why it’s doing this, but I think an update seems to have broken it a bit.

@bevren15 Gemini CLI isn’t free of mistakes. This might be an error worth raising to the Gemini CLI folks (instead of this forum for Firebase Studio, hope you understand): GitHub · Where software is built
