“command ‘aichat.actionsMenu’ not found” I keep getting this notif whenever I try using Gemini.
@Jeffrey_Lewis - are you in prototyping mode? Or are you using our sidebar chat from our coding workspace?
Hi, I recently reset my workspace because it was inactive/disconnected, and unresponsive - and when I opened it again, I cannot find the gemini window.
command ‘aichat.actionsMenu’ not found this error is shown when i try to open code actions, and
Hi @Adrestaia - do you see any errors when you go the Output tab group and filter on “Extension Host”?

I get the same error. Nothing in the Output tab with that filter. Just 2 informational messages.
The error appears in MS Edge on one of my machines. On another machine both Chrome and Edge just show a blank screen where Gemini should be.
Looking at the browser log I see a bunch of 408 errors and messages about the extension host being unresponsive.
Ok - I flagged this to our team to look deeper into.
Unfortunately, I did not check that last night - I made a new workspace from the repo to work with and that seems to work fine. if i run into the issue again, I’ll be sure to check that.
Also, the android preview was not shown either when Gemini was unavailable.
We suspect this happens when the VM gets extremely busy. The AI extension fails to load. That this eventuality worked on a new VM seems to indicate that may be the case.
We will still figure out a fix for this shortly though.
As additional context for my issue. I can use Gemini in the Prototyper view ( I expect this is the built in Gemini model) when I switch to Code view I can no longer access Gemini. In the Code view I had previously selected to use Gemini 2.5 Pro. I have tried refreshing the workspace but it makes no difference. Is there a way to change the Gemini model to be used somewhere to see if its an issue purely with selecting Gemini 2.5 Pro?
Confirming that creating a new Workspace and importing from my Repo has reactivated Gemini (Built in Model) and can change it back to 2.5 Pro.
