Today I lost revert option after Google make changes in their.
Hello! Okay, please don’t panic. I understand how terrifying that must feel, but I can assure you that your work is not lost, even if the button in the Prototyper UI has disappeared. ![]()
The “Revert” or “Checkpoint” buttons in the Prototyper are just a simplified, visual layer. Underneath, Firebase Studio is saving every single change as a commit in a standard Git repository.
You can always access this full, detailed history from the “Code” editor.
Here is how to find and restore any previous version of your work right now:
1. Switch to the “Code” Editor
In your workspace, find the button or toggle that switches you from the “Prototyper” view to the full “Code” editor (the one that looks like VS Code).
2. Open the Source Control (Git) Tab
Once you’re in the Code editor, look at the activity bar (the far left-hand sidebar).
-
Find the icon that looks like a “fork in the road” (the standard icon for Git/Source Control).
-
Click it.
3. Find Your Full History
This panel is your complete, permanent history.
-
You will see a “Commits” section or a “Timeline” section (you may need to click to expand it).
-
You will see a list of every single change and checkpoint the AI has ever made, named with messages like “AI edit on page.tsx” etc.
-
You can click on any commit in this list to see exactly what files were changed at that time.
-
When you find the version you want to restore, you can right-click the commit and choose to “Revert Commit” or “Reset” to that point, just like a normal Git workflow.
Your work is all there, safe and sound. You’re just accessing it through the more powerful, professional “Code” view instead of the Prototyper UI.
I hope this helps you find your previous version immediately!
