Inquiry About Extending IDX Usage Beyond 24 Hours for Long-Running AI Development

Hello Firebase Studio / Google Cloud‘s IDX Support Team,

I’m currently working on a project that requires long-running sessions in Google Cloud’s IDX (Cloud IDE) for AI development tasks, such as training and fine-tuning models using Google’s AI services . However, I noticed that IDX sessions automatically disconnect after 24 hours of inactivity . Since some AI workflows (e.g., model training, batch processing) may take longer than 24 hours, I’d like to ask:

  1. Is there a way to extend the IDX session timeout beyond 24 hours?
  2. Are there recommended configurations or workarounds (e.g., persistent compute instances, background tasks) to avoid interruptions?

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!
