The quality of code, diagnosis, and changes made with the current model has decreased significantly in the last 2 weeks or so. Code changes are slower as well, that is not as big of an issue, but the quality of the code, number of bugs/errors changes make, understanding of the original ask, etc. have all degraded significantly on my end. Anyone else see this?
I have the same problem
I agree, the performance, code quality, and response time have worsened a lot. Also, there’s the Gemeni issue now — it’s not working, I’ve been stuck all day without any results.
Are you seeing the change in the App Prototyping agent in the Prototype view, or Interactive Chat in the Code View?
There is no model change in the former.
Also seeing this alot more last few days. The ability to communicate with the firebase setup, remembering critical aspects of the application are all lost. Its now breaking to the point it takes so long to figure out why things like gemini model is no longer connecting etc.
What has changed in the interactive code chat? It feels the 2.5 pro model has become less intelligent and constantly cutting off or not generating responses. It has become unusable at all. I’m getting very frustrated with the whole experience. It was fine 2-3 weeks ago … something has changed and Google firebase studio needs to be transparent with the changes else developers will leave and use other services.
I wonder if the conversation in the workspace where you are experiencing this is just getting too long and complex? Are you seeing such behavior in a new workspace?
FYI, we have not downgraded models.
My conversation is short and I always start a new convo to ensure the model doesn’t get confused. Something must have changed and constantly getting cut off or service unavailable etc. the reliability of the service is really poor and impacting the user experience badly. Sometimes it is not usable at all and recently getting worst….
I came here to ask the same question; it seems like what I want done is not happening even after asking 10 different ways 10 different times. it seems more stubborn now and not listening and implementing features that are requested. its not doing simple things that it would have never gotten stuck on before.
It might be a good idea to start fresh in a new workspace.
Can you say more about this? Do you mean to duplicate the project or is there any documentation you can point me to?
What I would do is:
- download/export your project
- write a prompt that describe your app (this doesn’t need to be comprehensive)
- start a new workspace with this prompt
- in the new workspace, go to Code view, delete all files
- drag your downloaded project files into the explorer pane in the new workspace
- make a commit
At that point, your chat history is much fresher compared to in the old workspace. Hope this helps!
huh, I did that and as soon as I tried to make an edit in the new project I was hit with a Error code 429 | Generative AI on Vertex AI | Google Cloud
