I am writing this with tears in my eyes and a trembling heart. My name is Alantha Iduwara, an 18-year-old student from Sri Lanka, and today feels like the end of my world.
For the past year, Firebase Studio wasn’t just a tool for me—it was my only home. In a country with limited resources, this platform was the ‘AI heart’ that allowed me to breathe life into 7 patented projects. From Neuraldam, a system designed to prevent dam disasters and save thousands of lives, to SriFuel Pass, a solution for my nation’s crisis—every line of code was written with a dream of a better future.
To the creators at Google: When you sunset Firebase Studio, you aren’t just closing an app; you are dismantling the bridge to my future. I am a solo founder, a student working day and night to prove that innovation has no age or boundary. Moving to a new house is easy, but how do I move the ‘soul’ of my creations? How do I tell my community that the safety systems I built for them might vanish because their ‘home’ is being demolished?
I beg you, please don’t take this away from us. For a young creator like me, Firebase Studio is where I found my voice. If there is any mercy for a student’s hard work, please keep it alive. My dreams, my startup MASTERBRAIN, and the safety of the projects I’ve built depend on it.
Please, don’t let my 7 dreams become 7 memories.
With a broken heart and a flicker of hope,
Alantha Iduwara Mudalige
