Don’t get me wrong , I love what Google is doing, and I’ve told all my friends about Firebase. I’ve marketed it with pride. But this suspension has broken my spirit.
Last week my account was suddenly blocked. The trigger? A no-code experiment where AI agents (Gemini + Grok) collaborated on code. The project itself went nowhere, but Google flagged me anyway. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Grok didn’t even blink.
Now my real startup, which could truly change lives, is locked away. I’ve appealed 5 times since last week with no feedback. Imagine if I already had subscribers , everything would be gone overnight.
The scary truth:
Firebase projects are NOT in Google Takeout.
If your account is suspended, your code, data, and users vanish instantly.
You can build small demos, but once you push boundaries, suspension becomes a risk.
Indie builders are left wondering: are we competing with Google itself?
I hope this was a mistake. But I have to ask: what if this happens to my friends, or any of the other developers I encouraged to use Firebase?
This is bigger than just my project , it’s about trust.

First off I want to say, this is absolutely not the experience we want you to have.
We’ve been working on abuse detection recently. Studio offers Virtual Machines so anyone can build with nearly any kind of dev environment. These VMs are actively abused for non-building and non-development purposes which negatively affects the service for everyone and takes away time we could be spending on making Studio better for builders like you. There’s a chance that your Studio project got flagged for some reason. The project and the code is quite likely still around and only the access has been restricted.

My account is myailaptop@gmail.com I worked on my project properstake for the past 3-4 months now and was waiting for a trust to be registered whilst I was testing the app. And also playing around with another idea of making a collaborative chat dev app. And I thought that this might be why the account is now restricted. If you go on my domain you will see (www.properstake.co.za) and if you look at my project you will see that this is a legitimate start up. I have appealed and apologized numerus times and still no replay. I am not a coder and love firebase studio. I have always had a few ideas to try and a no coding app like yours was always the barrier. Please Please see if you can help me please let me know if you need any other info from me to lift the restriction.

David, I was testing the app extensively I just followed instructions from the Gemini and it helped me to create jest tests and playwright tests to simulate a database and test the app testing for edge cases and making sure commissions goes where it was suppose to, I don’t know if this could have triggered the suspension. Please let me know so I can prevent this in the future.
Hi Jan, we’ve checked and it doesn’t look like your account is blocked due to abuse. Can you confirm what error you are seeing and when you are seeing it? A screenshot via DM would really help.
Dont know If my previos message was send. So I am sending it again. I tried to log inn, to work on my app as usual but it was just Hanging then I checked my mail and got this message in the screen shot. My domain where the project was deployd to (properstake.co.za)say Back end Not found. I did appeal about 5 times but no reply.
The last screen shot was when i got a new debit card and I had to update my card details for the project, I did do this and after that I could acces the project again. But now I am blocked again like you know.
Knowing what I created and how I Tested my app what could be the reasons for the restriction? Also if I am not able to lift the restriction how could I get the project moved? I really dont whant to loose the project at this stage it was so close to completion. Would you guys help me move it to a new account?
Guys because my account is blocked the form where I submit the request to open the account does not want to submit. Have you got an e-mail address where I can e-mail them direct. See the bottom if the screen shot the error. I also appealed again but still no reply. Do you guys know someone working there so we can get someone’s attention on the issue?
It is Jan again sorry for bothering you a know you are probably sick of me by now, I want to know if there is any way can get my project and maybe move it to another account? Because I am Blocked the system does not allow me to send messages. Since I am not blocked on your end can you assist me in moving the properstake app to another account. Please. I have send a message from another account but I am no replay.
Hi Jan, the Firebase Studio team and Firebase Support team have both looked into this. But this is a wider Google Cloud suspension of your account.
I don’t have any visibility into why your Google Cloud account has been suspended, did you receive any emails from Google Cloud Compliance (google-cloud-compliance@google.com)? This is their guide Project suspension guidelines | Resource Manager Documentation | Google Cloud . Have you raised a support ticket with the Google Cloud support team as James recommended? They are the team that can fix this. Once you have a Cloud ticket you can DM me the details and I may be able to help.
