I have had relentless issues with firebase studio. (Yes I understand it’s in preview.) But I think this is one of the worst issues I have experienced yet. Between the relentless prototyper issues and authentication issues, this one is the worst.
I can no longer access my actual workspace. Can’t even switch to code view. It is stuck on the set up page. It get’s stuck on Building environment and gives me this message:
" X Building environment
Couldn’t build your environment. Launch the default recovery environment below."
Clicking on the Launch Recovery button does nothing for me. It just tries to build it again, stops and returns with the button. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Oh yeah! Pretty painful lol. I reached out to their support team and the person I spoke to via email said he was raising it to another level of support and that they “would be in touch.” Never heard from them. I ended up having to restart. And the what I did have was not worth trying to recover and wait weeks for. The back up copy I had on GitHub was too old. (My fault) They are pretty slammed and their response times are rather slow. So I just restarted the project and had to build from scratch. But now I’m just making sure that every session or halfway through every session I am backing up and sending it to GitHub so I my progress saved. My God, I don’t want to go through that again.
I assume you’ve already done the basic troubleshooting steps? Reset the workspace, refresh your browser, try a different browser, all the same cliches?
Daily backups are always a good idea.
I’m surprised the launch recovery option does not work for you.
This is what causes the build to fail.
