I’ve spent 4 months working on my app avoiding Gemini 2.5 Pro like the plague, because whenever I’m forced to use it, it obliterated my app to an older version of it and gets carried away with changing things it wasn’t asked to do.
For awhile, I’ve only used Gemini Pro 3 Preview, it has helped me build my app with very minimal error, except when March 9th came along (last Monday). I logged on and continued development, then suddenly my app looks like a waaaaay older version and there’s no way to get it back to what it was! I’ve invested a lot of time and effort developing my app, only to be set back.
I’m finding Firebase is unusable and as a paying customer, shouldn’t continue using this product. There was no warning about the deprecation of Gemini 3 Preview and there’s no real clear service to restore the changes made by AI. I’m posting this in the hopes that someone from Firebase can get me back on track or I’m leaving for good.
It’s a real shame to be set back and delayed from nearly finishing development for launch again and again. Talk of Antigravity being the successor to Firebase and Firebase being tossed by Google is a real shame in business. Maybe I’m misinformed, but there needs to be some real improvements here.
